ZEN FOR THE DAY 1

This my Zentangle for the day. I started it last night.

I don't know what the proper name for it is, I just call it "Quilt" style technique. So if there is a real name for it...let me know.

Water Color Flowers 1

Here is a new technique for me but has been done by other tanglers.

I splattered watercolor paint on wet paper. Let it dry and began to draw in images. I have never done this before and can honestly say I enjoy it. Here is what I did while sitting in the park this evening.

When I scanned this it only scanned the part that I have drawn on, it is much bigger.

This was scanned ... the flowers on the original are not this purple.

This was taken with my camera...this is more like the original.

ZEN: In the past work...

As I stated earlier, I have been doing this since November. I thought I would share a little of what I have done since now.

BUBBLE-TASTIC

This is my poster-sized Zentangle I am currently working on. I work on it off and on. It is not a constant project. However, it is my biggest project ever!

Below are close-ups of the different bubbles I have created.

Zen: How it all started for me.

First I would like to say that I totally love Zentangle or Zendoodle! Which ever you want to call it. I am not a certified teacher nor do I claim ownership of any designs. I am just a big fan of the technique.

I have been doing Zentangle since November 2012. I happened upon it one day while I was just surfing the web on Pinterest. I am not sure if it was a video or just a cool pic I found, but after viewing many videos and seeing many examples, I was hooked!

Zentangle came into my life at a perfect time. I had a lot of stress going on in my life and I have a job that consist of sitting for 8 hours doing nothing but checking on a sleeping patient 3 or 4 times a night. So I bought myself a small art journal and began spending hours upon hours doodling.

At first, I started doing small little doodles with little detail. I would find easy patterns to do. Then I started adding more details and before I knew it I was doing very VERY detailed work. The more detail the more into it I became.

I then found as time went on I wanted to go bigger. My small little journal I took to work was perfect, well at work. I started coming home and doing bigger projects. I loved it! I am currently working on a poster sized one, which you will start seeing in the near future. Then as time went on other people in my life started Zening with me. How fun is that? So my 20-year-old daughter, who still lives with me and sees in the future she will someday move out, and I started a poster sized Tangle together for her to put up in her future apartment. I have so many projects going on I am never bored!

I am slowly going out into the Zentangle world and want to meet others with the same hobby or interested in it at least.

Below is my favorite Zentangle I have ever done.
